Popcorn Paranoia
HKU graduation film by Lara Kleber. Popcorn Paranoia is a psychological thriller about a routine-obsessed movie theater employee trying to escape her emotions.
The film delves deeply into disassociation and the negative consequences of emotional avoidance, because how long can she keep avoiding her emotions?
After working with Lara before on set, I applied for her graduation film to help with the costumes. The topic of the film really resonated with me, which is why I was very happy to work on this production! For me, the most fun part was to gather the uniforms for the movie theatre. It ended up looking very stiff and out of place (or should I say time), which is what I was going for.
